Scientific American Draws on Shagun Mehrotra’s Research

Source: Scientific America, 2011

Scientific American, founded in 1845 is the leading source and authority for science, technology information, and policy for a general audience.  In August 2011, Scientific American published a special issue on Cities that discussed Professor Shagun Mehrotra’s research.

“For years scientists have urged national leaders to tackle climate change, based on the assumption that prevention efforts would require the coordinated actions of entire nations to be effective.  [Meanwhile,] Cities are tackling climate change because they are suffering from floods, rising seas, and heat waves. They are innovating ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, conserve water, protect transportation systems and help the public avoid heatstroke.  City leaders should share best practices to maximize progress and minimize costs.”  Read more on why All Climate Is Local.
