In December of 2011, emerging sustainable development leaders gathered in Professor Shagun Mehrotra’s Climate Change and Cities course to discuss climate risks and responses in eight global cities: Dakar, Delhi, London,
Urban climate resilience was analyzed in the water, energy, and transport sectors in each of these eight cities. This scientific analysis utilized the Framework for City Climate Risk Assessment (Mehrotra et al., 2009) to reveal how cities can assess risks, craft responses, and operationalize action through contextualized policy mechanisms.
Problem-solving strategies for environmental planning and management in São Paulo are presented here.
