Building A Stronger, More Resilient New York

At the invitation of Professor Shagun Mehrotra, New York City’s Director of Resiliency in the Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, Daniel Zarrilli, addressed a group of emerging sustainable development policy experts at The New School University.  In a lively discussion, Mr. Zarrilli presented insights from the 2013 PlaNYC Report: A Stronger, More Resilient New York.  He discussed lessons learned from Hurricane Sandy and unpacked the 257 initiatives that the City of New York is implementing as part of a $20 billion reconstruction and adaptation response.  Susan Yoon, Progam Manager at Sustainable Development Center in New York facilitated the event.
