Post 2015: Urban and Infrastructure SDG

September 22, 2012, NEW YORK – On a day that brought world leaders to Columbia University, Shagun Mehrotra, Director of Sustainable Development Solutions Center, joined the leadership of New York City government, president of the sustainable development real estate firm Jonathan Rose Companies, Brookings Institution, and NASA scientist Cynthia Rosenzweig to articulate the need for an Urban and Infrastructure emphasis for the post 2015 development agenda.  The panelists were invited by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director of The Earth Institute, Columbia University, as part of a high-level meeting to launch the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.  Professor Shagun Mehrotra led discussions with international leaders in business, government, academia, the United Nations, and civil society on the creation and composition of the Urban Thematic Group and solution initiative for sustainable cities, aimed at prioritizing an Urban SDG in the post 2015 UN Sustainable Development Goals process.
