Global Urban Futures Seminar: Shagun Mehrotra on Climate Change and Cities

Climate change is altering the ways our cities are planned and managed; affecting more than half the world’s population and most firms. United Nations estimates that three billion people will be added to cities by 2050, predominantly in slums of Africa and Asia; while in North America, aging environmental infrastructure will need renewal.

This seminar, which took place on Wednesday October 24, 2012, explored global environmental challenges and city responses to climate change.  The focus was on practical applications of frameworks for climate risk assessment and sustainable development solutions in response to climate change.
